Who can race?
Anyone with a current USA Cycling or UCI International license can compete. There’s even the Shimano Kids Race for kids under 10. One day licenses for Beginner and Sport categories are available for just $5. Expert, Semi-Pro and Professional athletes must have a valid Annual USA Cycling license. Visit http://www.usacycling.org to purchase your license.
What kind of gear do I need?
You’ll need a bike, of course, which should be in safe working condition. We recommend that you have top tube, handlebar and stem pads. Reflectors and chain guards should be removed. You’ll also need a long sleeve shirt, long pants, closed soft sole shoes (no sandals or dress shoes), and a helmet with mouth guard. Gloves are highly recommended, but not required. Elbow and knee pads are also recommended but not required.
How will I know where to ride?
Maps of the various courses will be available at the event. You can inspect the courses at practice on Thursday. Please respect the land and stay on the trail. For your safety and that of other racers and spectators, please be aware of your surroundings and ride in control.
